The Darcy Hotel project involved a full-scale renovation and repositioning of the former DoubleTree into a vibrant, contemporary boutique hotel in the heart of the nation’s capital. The transformation included a comprehensive guestroom overhaul, increasing the key count while introducing modern finishes, thoughtful layouts, and elevated amenities to meet the expectations of today’s travelers. Public areas were reimagined to create dynamic, inviting spaces, including new food and beverage outlets, flexible event spaces, and social hubs that enhance both guest experience and hotel revenue potential.
The exterior façade was completely redesigned, establishing a distinct identity for the hotel and creating a welcoming, modern entry experience that reflects the property’s repositioning.
Throughout the project, Ken provided full development, project, and design management, delivering executive oversight and strategic direction while at KHP. The result is a cohesive, high-performing boutique hotel that combines elevated design, operational efficiency, and a strong sense of place at the center of Washington, D.C.
