KPRC was engaged to reimagine the Islander Resort and unlock the full potential of its 10-acre oceanfront property. Services included master planning for the existing resort and future zoning density, evaluation of transfer of development rights, planning for off-site workforce housing, and securing all required entitlements.

Following completion of the master plan, a phased renovation was executed to maintaining resort operations, over two seasons, transforming the Islander from a drive-up motel–style property into a collection of tropical bungalows set within an oceanfront oasis. The renovation reimagined the landscape and site layout; introduced new guestroom exterior patios and enhanced ocean view corridors; and added a beachside Tiki pavilion restaurant, pool bar, beach bar, and beach food-truck concept. The project also included the full renovation of 24 bayside suites.
