Mr Edison

KPRC Owner Representative, Historic Preservation & Rehabilitation,

Mr. Edison has opened inside one of the most iconic spaces within Philadelphia’s historic Bellevue Hotel, bringing a new era of dining and nightlife to a building long defined by innovation, design, and hospitality.

The restaurant occupies a storied space within The Bellevue, most recently home to Ralph Lauren Polo, while drawing inspiration from the building’s original legacy at the turn of the 20th century. Named for Thomas Edison, whose advancements in electric lighting helped transform the original Bellevue into a showcase of modern luxury, Mr. Edison reimagines that spirit of innovation for a new generation.

Set beneath the building’s ornate historic ceilings, the completed restaurant balances the architectural character and grandeur of The Bellevue with a bold, contemporary hospitality experience. Led by restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow—known for iconic, design-forward concepts including China Grill—Mr. Edison brings a high-energy new dining destination to one of Philadelphia’s most recognizable historic addresses.

Today, Mr. Edison represents the successful convergence of historic preservation, adaptive transformation, and modern hospitality—honoring the legacy of The Bellevue while creating an entirely new experience within one of its most celebrated spaces.
