The transformation of Hotel Monaco Philadelphia reimagined an 11-story vacant office building into a 271-key lifestyle hotel in the heart of Independence National Historical Park. Located within one of the country’s most historically sensitive districts, the project required a highly careful approach to both preservation and design.
Extensive structural repairs were completed alongside a meticulous façade restoration to maintain the building’s historic integrity while upgrading it for modern hospitality use. A standout feature is the rooftop bar, thoughtfully integrated to offer sweeping city views and create a dynamic destination for guests and locals alike.
Delivered with LEED Gold certification and supported by Historic Tax Credits, the redevelopment successfully balanced sustainability, performance, and preservation—revitalizing a long-underutilized building while honoring its historic significance.
